Lectures and Seminars
Teaching Experience
Environmental Economics (Undergraduate)
I teach an introductory course in environmental economics. The course is best suited to those second- or third-year students who have already completed a couple of introductory courses in economics. We will use the first few weeks to review the basic knowledge of welfare economics and explain how, why, and when market mechanism works. We will then learn about the limitations of market mechanisms with a particular emphasis on environmental problems, followed by a discussion of possible remedies. We will also cover more practical issues of designing environmental policies, including cost-benefit analysis and valuation of non-market goods.
Seminar(Graduate/Postgraduate)
I supervise those who are interested in theoretical analysis of environmental and natural resource issues, preferably involving dynamic methods and strategic interactions. I will 1) help students learn about the research methods and techniques commonly used in the field, 2) introduce students to selected (and promising) research topics in the field, and 3) assist students to come up with research ideas for their own projects.
