Research Interests
Renewable energy has become increasingly important for supplying the electricity essential to economic development in a clean and sustainable manner. However, renewable energy sources face the challenge of intermittency and variability, as power generation fluctuates significantly depending on weather conditions and time of day.
My research focuses on these challenges associated with the diffusion of renewable energy and empirically examines the effectiveness of policies and technologies designed to address them. In particular, I analyze topics such as the role of pumped-storage hydropower in mitigating the intermittency of solar power generation and the impact of power outage experiences on solar panel adoption. Through these studies, I aim to contribute to evidence-based policy recommendations for the realization of a sustainable energy society.
