The 7th Annual International Conference on Applied Economics in Hawaii will be held online by the Graduate School of Economics, Kobe University

The 7th Annual International Conference on Applied Economics in Hawaii will be held online by the Graduate School of Economics, Kobe University at 9:40-14:05, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 (Japan Standard Time) as a 120th anniversary project of Kobe University. This conference will be held in a real-time Zoom Webinar format due to prolonged concern about the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, the specific theme of this year’s Hawaii Conference is “The COVID-19 Pandemic and Economic Activities”. Outstanding researchers from Australia, Hawaii, Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan are scheduled to present their recent projects on the COVID-19 pandemic and economic activities.

The keynote speaker is Dr. Victoria Baranov, an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Melbourne. Her research explores how health, psychological factors, and norms interact with poverty and economic development. Her research has been published in the American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, and many other top journals across multiple disciplines.
