Delegation Visit from the School of Economics, Peking University(People’s Republic of China)
On Friday, July 14, 21 researchers and staff members from Peking University’s School of Economics visited our Faculty and Graduate School of Economics. The welcome was extended by 30 faculty members and graduate students from Kobe University, including Dean Ryuzo Miyao. The Faculty and Graduate School of Economics at Kobe University and Peking University’s School of Economics have been engaged in a departmental academic exchange agreement since 2017.
Following opening remarks by Dean Miyao, four esteemed faculty members from Peking University gave introductory addresses: Associate Professor Jianhua Cui, Chair of the School of Economics Council; Professor Xuezheng Qin, Associate Dean; Chair Professor Wan Wang; and Senior Professor Zheng Zhang. From Kobe University, Professor Yunfang Hu served as a Chinese interpreter, and Research Associate Junko Iwatsuki, International Academic Coordinator, acted as the moderator during the exchange event.
Afterward, the participants relocated to take part in one of the three parallel sessions. The research presentations were given by Associate Professors Hiroaki Sakamoto, Kaiji Motegi, and Junichi Yamasaki from Kobe University, as well as Assistant Professors Fanqi Shi, Yiling Zhao, and Associate Professor Fa Wang from Peking University. Lively discussions took place after each presentation. Professor Eiichi Miyagawa, Chair of the International Exchange Committee, concluded the two-hour event with his closing remarks. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to promote future collaborations between the two universities.
