It is well known that market economy works quite well but it also has its limitations. Therefore, the government needs to play an important role. To implement appropriate economic policies, we need to assess the current economy (positive theory) and understand the effects and necessity of certain policies (normative theory). Money and Public Policy focus on the two major topics: "money" and "government". It is no exaggeration to say that it is an eternal theme in economics to explain monetary phenomena. "Monetary Policy", "Public Economics" and "Public Finance" provide normative theories for the governmental policies. Thus, Money and Public Policy covers the most contemporaneous issues, which include the fragile financial system, financial crises, massive outstanding government debt, and the design of the pension scheme.
